2008 Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II Horse Show Supported By Generous Sponsors

Wayne, IL - May 29, 2008 - The 2008 Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II Horse Show is one of the most exciting equestrian events in the Midwest. Managed by Showplace Productions, it is held this year on June 17-22 at the Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, IL. It will award a quarter of a million dollars in prize money over the six-day show, thanks to help from its generous sponsors.

"These companies and individuals enable Showplace Productions to raise the bar every show season with positive growth and improvements to our facilities, innovative and exciting points series, and the most generous distribution of prize money for all levels in the Midwest," said Pat Boyle, competition manager and President of Showplace Productions.

The title sponsor of the Showplace Spring Spectacular II Horse Show is Wachovia Securities. This is the fourth year that Wachovia Securities has been the title sponsor. Their incredible support has helped the horse show grow, attract some of the best competitors in the country, and be a dominating force in the Midwest equestrian industry.

Wachovia Securities is the sponsor of the $50,000 grand prix, which is held on Saturday, June 21, at 3:30 p.m. They also sponsor the $10,000 Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic on Sunday, June 22.

Wachovia Securities' also contributes to the Leading Rider Series. They support the $50,000 Wachovia Securities Open Jumper Rider Series, which tracks the top grand prix riders through the series.

The Leading Rider Series is held over nine events. The final show is the Showplace Fall Classic Horse Show on September 17-21, at which all of the rider series awards will be presented after the $25,000 Wachovia Grand Prix. The Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II is the third show in the series of qualifying events for the awards.

Boyle noted, "The Wachovia Securities Leading Rider Series will take show jumping in the Midwest to a new, higher level."

Another sponsor in the Leading Rider Series is Michael Taylor of Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS), which sponsors the Leading Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Rider Series.
