West Coast Active Riders Leadership Changes Hands in 2006

Wellington, FL- December 19- Gabriella Salick, Executive Director of the West Coast Active Riders organization, has resigned from her California WCAR position to begin a new job on the East Coast. Salick has assured WCAR participants that they will be in good hands in the future, and the organization will continue to improve its programs and the California Show Jumping scene.

“I want to thank all of you for making these past two years the terrific, wild, and awesome time it's been,” commented Salick to WCAR members. “Coming back to California allowed me to reconnect with old friends and make many, many new ones. With a background as a Latin teacher and a Show Jumping rider, I was hardly equipped to take on the management of an organization like WCAR, but all of your help, advice and support made it easy and totally enjoyable to learn.”

Salick notified members that Dale Harvey, one of WCAR's original founders, will act as the new Executive Director of WCAR. He will specifically focus on the High Performance issues and those matters pertaining to Grand Prix riders. Jackie Freundlich and her company Equestrisol, who greatly contributed to the WCAR website, will be taking on the responsibilities of marketing, advertising, management, and specific programs such as the MRSP Scholarship. Tammy Chipko, member of the 2006 1.40 Spruce Meadows team, will be taking over the Spruce Meadows Prix de Nations program. “We all know that there's no one like a veteran to lead the next campaign!” added Salick.

“I have been encouraged and inspired by the sincere desire of our riders to improve our sport and to take on the responsibility of becoming better horsepeople,” related Salick. “I am completely optimistic about the future of Show Jumping on the West Coast, and I will be watching, cheering (and of course, representing!) from the East next year.”

Salick will relocate in January to Wellington, Florida, where she will show in the Winter Equestrian Festival while working for a professional show stable.
