Animal Planet premieres Hampton Classic Win on Saturday!

CNN host Lou Dobbs is not the only one in the family to be the main, or should we say "mane," attraction on television this month. Animal Planet airs the $200,000 FTI Hampton Classic Horse Show Grand Prix, won by the daughter Hillary, on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 3 PM ET. The 20 year old became the youngest rider ever to win this World Qualifying Class, stealing that title away from this year's Olympic Show Jumper Gold Medalist McClain Ward, who was 22 when he won the event. Hampton Classic FTI Show Jumping Grand Prix

(Saturday, October 4 at 3 PM ET)

One-Hour Special Part of Network’s "World Sporthorse Championships" Series

The 2008 Hampton Classic wrapped up in a spectacular fashion, with 20 year-old Hillary Dobbs riding her Corlett to victory in the $200,000 FTI Grand Prix and World Cup™ Qualifier. CNN Anchor Lou Dobbs’ daughter became the youngest ever winner of the Grand Prix at the Classic, a record previously held by a then 22 year-old McLain Ward in 1998. McLain also competed in this year’s Grand Prix, fresh off of his team show-jumping gold medal win at the 2008 Olympic Games.

Animal Planet will be airing a one-hour national broadcast of the FTI Grand Prix of Dobbs win at the Hampton Classic Horse Show this Saturday, October 4th, at 3:00 p.m.

The grandstands were sold out at the Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton, NY and thousands cheered Dobbs, Brianne Goutal (second place) and Kirsten Coe (third place) to victory. And it wasn’t the only time the 20 year old Harvard student won first place honors---earlier in the week Hillary won the $20,000 Nicolock Time Challenge and the $50,000 Carolex Grand Prix Qualifier. She also rode off with the first ever $30,000 VOX Rider Challenge Title, as the Open Jumper rider who accumulated the most points aboard her collective mounts for the week.

Tune in to catch all the show-jumping action and enjoy commentary from athlete and sports commentator, Lewis Johnson; sports anchor and contributor for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, Andrew Catalon; and veteran Grand Prix and top international show jumping competitor, Kim Frey. This broadcast is part of a special series, the "World Sporthorse Championships," on Animal Planet dedicated to bringing international show-jumping to a larger audience.

We hope you will all tune in!
