JT Farm Has Another Successful Week at CN Winter Equestrian Festival
Wellington, FL - January 28, 2008 - JT Farm and trainer Jimmy Toon had another successful week at the CN Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF). Based out of South Salem, NY, and Wellington, FL, JT Farm focuses on producing top quality horses and riders in the disciplines of equitation, hunters, and jumpers.
Riders from JT Farm took home prizes in all three disciplines this week. Fourteen-year-old Katie Galbraith of Darien, CT, rode multiple horses to ribbons. She piloted her horse Harley to seventh place out of 49 competitors in the ASPCA Maclay class. She and Latrino, her jumper, were fourth in the $1,000 Children's 14-17 Jumper Time First Jump-off class and sixth out of 45 in the $1,500 Children's Jumper Classic. She also rode The Boss to ribbons in the junior hunters. Toon and The Boss finished first and second in the Non-Thoroughbred Hunters.
Adult rider Lyn Pederson of Greenwich, CT, had a good week in the Adult Amateur 36-50 Hunters. She rode her horse Quentin to two second place ribbons in the division. She also rode Triple X, owned by JT Farm, to first place in an over fences class. This was Pederson's first horse show since the Hampton Classic in August.
Triple X is a seven-year-old Oldenburg gelding that Toon imported three years ago. "I bought him dead green, and I think he's just a really good guy. He just needs to go out here and jump around for awhile," Toon said. "We're thinking of moving him up eventually as a First Year horse as well. He's a good jumper and is a beautiful horse."
Brianne Link, a WEF circuit champion last year in the Short Stirrup division, has moved up to the Children's Pony Hunters. The nine-year-old rode Asgard Mercury to two seconds and a fourth in the Small/Medium division and Foxcroft Veronsky to third and fourth in the Large division. In the Equitation 11 & Under division, Link was first, second, and third.
Ellen Toon and Invincible finished as reserve champions in the Amateur-Owner Over 35 Hunters. They received two seconds, a fourth, and an eighth place for the tricolor. On her horse In Disguise, Toon picked up two third places in the Adult Amateur 3'3" Hunters.
Carolyn Lichtenberg (16) of Pelham Manor, NY, rode I-Toon to fifth place in the hunter phase of the WIHS Equitation class.
JT Farm will show next at the third week of the CN Winter Equestrian Festival from Jan. 30-Feb. 3.
